About the Trust
The Trust is dedicated to financially supporting those wanting to study or train in Personal Construct Psychology, assisting courses to develop teaching in PCP, and providing resources to support research relevant to PCP.
What we do
We make grants to individuals in higher education, further education and community education to study Personal Construct Psychology.
We make grants to university departments, community colleges and institutions in further education to mount suitable courses in this subject.
We also make grants to support research on Personal Construct Psychology and its applications.
We seek to promote the development of personal construct education in educational, community and personal study settings.
Our story
We have a strong commitment to the development of PCP education, training and research. In addition to psychotherapeutic applications, PCP has proved highly effective in fields such as business, health and education.
The Trust was set up in September 2021 and initiated through a kind donor. It was a grant from this source that enabled us to support the Padua short specialisation degree in Personal Construct Psychology and Counselling.
Since the Trust was set up, we have been busy enlarging our membership and setting up our administrative processes.
How we decide
We fund individuals and courses internationally, on an annual basis. We provide educational support for courses and grants for candidates who have a demonstrable need and would not otherwise be able to undertake their programme of study or research.
The Trust makes awards on the recommendation of its trustees and in accordance with the purposes set out in the Trust Deed. Candidates are asked to show how they expect to be able to operate for the public benefit on completion of their course, educational experience or research activity, through a questionnaire, an interview and references.
Who benefits
The most direct beneficiaries are students who receive grants, or who are trained on programmes that have received financial support, and who then apply personal construct psychology in the fields above. Members of the public benefit in turn as recipients of such work, for example by receiving personal construct counselling or psychotherapy.
Governance
Personal Construct Education Trust is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO), registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales on 24 September 2021 under charity number 1195916. Our governing document and our annual accounts are public.
